No Barriers

I seldom get the chance to talk to my friends and keep them up-to-date with what's going on with my life... well, this is it. My online journal. Yah, another personal blog, just exactly what the world needs now. Let's be realistic, it's cheaper than overseas calls. Less tiring than novel-like emails.

Dream Theme
I was watching 'The Buzz' and 'Rated K' yesterday, and all I can seem to notice is that they are talking about weddings - Aiko's wedding, Wedding Rituals in some province where - people need to debate first before the groom's family will be allowed to enter soon-to-be bride's house, parents choose the man their daugther will marry and giving of dowry. Then after that, we watched the George Canseco Tribute - where the artists sang all of his compositions, like Ikaw, Ngayon at Kailanman, Tubig at Langis.

Out of nowhere something popped out of my head - when I get married I want my wedding to have a theme, Filipiniana theme. Invitations will be in Tagalog, the souvenirs will be native stuff. The hosts will speak in our native tongue. I guess this was partly influenced by the type of songs I want to be played on my wedding - Canseco's 'Ngayon at Kailanman'...I just love this song. :)

Ngayon at kailanman
Sumpa ko'y iibigin ka
Ngayon at kailanman
Hindi ka na mag-iisa
Ngayon at kailanman
Sa hirap ko ginhawa ka
Asahan may kasama ka sinta
Naroroon ako t'wina
Maaasahan mo t'wina
Ngayon at kailanman

Dahil kaya sa 'yo ng maitadhanang
Ako'y isilang sa mundo
Upang sa araw-araw ay siyang makapiling mo
Upang ngayon at kailanman
Ikaw ay mapalingkuran hirang
Bakit labis kitang mahal
Pangalawa sa Maykapal
Higit sa 'king buhay

It never fails to capture my heart as it speaks of the type of love that is bound to last a lifetime. I want our wedding vows and speeches to be given in Tagalog. I have nothing against speaking in English, and I think it would be easier for me to talk about some things in English, but I guess it's more romantic and at the same time, people will be more at ease and enjoy the wedding more. I don't want my wedding to be too formal and stiff. I want people to be their normal selves and enjoy the gathering. Yah, I know it's too early for me to think of these stuff… but just wanted to share what's going through my head right now.

Hanggang doon magwawakas pag-ibig kong sadyang wagas
Ngayon at kailanman
